About the Role:
Gippsland’s local TAFE is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our busy and engaged Student Services team. As the Learning Support Assistant you will work closely with Teachers to provide support to individuals and small groups. You will help Teachers to create an engaging and exciting learning environment, and to identify the most effective resources to support the learning needs of students.
To be successful in this role you will have a genuine passion and interest in supporting the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of students to enhance learning opportunities. You will demonstrate a calm and caring approach with the ability to motivate students. Education and Experience:
- Certificate III in Education Support
- Year 12 Certificate in English, Maths and ICT;
- Experience working with students with additional support needs
- Experience of supporting students on a one-on-one basis
- Experience working with indigenous students would be desirable
- Evidence of being in a learning support role in a tertiary setting
A six month probationary period applies to this position. Successful applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and will be required to satisfy a National Police Record Check (less than 12 months old) and hold a Victorian Working with Children Check.
