The Institute aims to provide excellent vocational education and training services for industry, students and government in Victoria, Australia and internationally.

About the Role:

Join the Institute's Patisserie and Baking team in teaching and assessing units from the SIT31016 and SIT40716 Patisserie Training Package from July 2021 to December 2021 on a full time basis working 38 hours per week.

Key Selection Criteria:

Note: Only applicants that address the key selection criteria will be considered for this role:

  • Applicants require an approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area or approved equivalent qualifications and approved industry experience. Minimum vocational qualification is Certificate III or Certificate IV in Patisserie.
  • Minimum teaching qualification of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40116) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to plan teach and assess in a range of units in the Food Processing, Tourism Hospitality & Events training package or accredited curriculum, in the areas of Baking or Patisserie (Certificate III or IV).
  • Ability to research and develop appropriate teaching materials and methods of assessment, and adapt delivery and assessment to meet student needs using appropriate technology in a diverse teaching environment
  • Knowledge of current trends in the Hospitality industry particularly within the Baking & Patisserie sector and a network of industry contacts
  • Ability to contribute to, and be a part of, the teams working within the Centre for Food Trades and Culinary Arts and the ability to co-operate and communicate effectively with Institute staff, students and industry personnel.

The Full Time Equivalent Salary Range: $73,027 - $103,540 + Superannuation (dependent on qualifications & experience). Pro-rata salary will apply to part time roles.
