About The Role:
The Service Desk Specialist provides essential and up-to-date IT Helpdesk Level 1 and Level 2 support to Bendigo Kangan Institute's (BKI) staff and students. The role is responsible for assisting stakeholders to effectively utilise current Information Technology equipment and systems in their teaching, learning and administration. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Service Desk Specialist provides services over the phone, though email and in person at multiple campus locations.

The Hospitality, Cookery and Patisserie Department at Holmesglen is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Stores Assistant to join their friendly team at Holmesglen’s Waverley campus.
The position is an active hands-on role in the Holmesglen stores department.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining the storage, hygiene and preparation of food products, along with monitoring equipment for the department.
- Assemble products required for each lesson and return items after each lesson from the stores department including all fresh and frozen food, dry goods, beverages and equipment.
- The distribution of equipment and stock to kitchens, food service areas and store areas.
- Maintaining a safe learning environment by demonstrating correct carrying and storage techniques.
- Cleaning of kitchen equipment and facilities.
- Receiving goods, storage and rotation of goods.
- Reporting weekly equipment cleaning or maintenance and repairing.
ABOUT YOU
- Require the following certificates that are equivalent to SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety & SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practices
- Good interpersonal & communication skills with students, teachers, general staff and external suppliers.

About The Role:
BKI is seeking a Teacher Cookery/Hospitality to join our Food, Land & Services at Bendigo City Campus. The key responsibility of this role is to deliver quality vocational education and training for students enrolled in the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and conduct competency-based assessments in a range of settings including classroom, workplace and online environments.
You will be contributing to design, facilitation and evaluation of teaching and learning programs. You will also develop assessment tools and support planning and evaluation in a range of contemporary VET settings.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The casual teacher, Electrical provides professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve.
This position focuses on excellence in planning and conducting teaching and assessment. The role also includes resource development and educational administration.
The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Electrical Business area and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student-centred services for the Electrical team.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
- Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and meet their needs and learning styles including assessing student work
- Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements
- Improve the quality of teaching and learning through a student based approach and adaptive curriculum
- Work collaboratively with industry to align current and emerging industry needs and facilitate relevant and responsive delivery models that engage learners
- Contribute to business development activities such as tenders and submissions to support business growth and the Institute’s fee for service goals
- Complete workplace visits during workplace/clinical placements and liaise with key stakeholders such as employers, schools and other education providers to explore pathway options for learners
- Ensure high quality, up to date and relevant teaching delivery, assessment and student engagement strategies to support learner success and contribute to the achievement of Chisholm shared goals

ABOUT YOU
You will have relevant qualifications, skills and experience in:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116
- Vocational qualifications at an AQF level based on level of teaching required and be able to teach across all year levels and competencies of the Electrical trade
- Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience
- Registration with relevant professional association/s (as required for the specific discipline)

About The Role:
The Learning Support Coach is responsible for building relationships with students within the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) Vocational Major (VM) and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) at Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI). Through this process, the mentor will identify and assist to resolve risks or challenges for students to complete their education. The mentor will provide direct support to students undertaking accredited training activities through the VCE VM and VPC. The role will work closely with the VCE department to maximise student retention, participation, wellbeing, and success in completing their studies. It is expected that the role will assist students with tutoring support, and assistance to develop core skills for balancing work and study, including literacy requirements for study and the workplace.

- Identify students and implement strategies to identify and address student's barriers to training and employment
- Identify strengths, skills and barriers and provide targeted solutions and address needs with the view to expanding and developing opportunities for students into further training pathways and employment
- Using key and practical actions engage the difficult to engage students to provide skills and address barriers to training that will enhance employment opportunities
- Provide targeted training and skill development support to address barriers
- Provide combination of pastoral care service and referral pathway options to facilitate a
sustained pathway to successful course completions and employment for students
- Ensure that students commence and remain in appropriate training for the duration of the course.
- Ensure that all training/support/activities are delivered in a culturally sensitive and empathetic manner, and that all are provided in accordance with BKI policies and procedures and the service delivery guarantee/funding agreement/contract
- Ensure that set performance targets are met and/or exceeded - at both individual and service level
- Ensure the completion of all administrative tasks as required, including but not limited to data entry, case/file notes, letters/correspondence etc.
- Maintain all accurate client files and records in an orderly manner
- Provision of in-class, one to one, and small group assistance for confidence building,
comprehension, and core skills to undertake and balance work and study (including on-line)
- Act as the liaison between teaching staff regarding training progress, overall engagement, and well-being.
- Gather and maintain records and data as agreed on staff participation and progress in workforce development activities.
- Always ensure the confidentiality of client and staff information
- Act always in a professional manner in accordance with the policies and practices of BKI
- Support BKI with their accredited training and overall workforce development planning and development needs, including attending required meetings
- Liaise closely with other stakeholders when students are showing signs of disengagement, or not achieving deadlines for assessment submission.
- Reports to monitor student progress and provide to nominated key contacts at BKI
- Provide any additional records and/or data to BKI, including training participation and outcomes as required
- Attend regular team meetings and other forums as required.
- Attend workforce development specific activities and meetings as required
- Undertake other duties as directed

- Engage appropriate support and activities for VM and VPC students to assist in overcoming barriers to education and employment
Supervision & Independence
- Seek broad direction on activities from the Education Manager
- Make decisions and implement activities as required to ensure timely support for VCE VM and VPC to overcome barriers to training and employment
- Works within BKI's Values and Behaviours - ensures that all work performed is constantly
aligned with BKI's Values
Organisational Relationships and Impact
- Develop a strong portfolio knowledge of industry and BKI as well as comprehensive links to vocational and non-vocational supports, particularly for VCE VM and VPC students
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the BKI teaching team to enable
supports for students
Interpersonal Skills
- Build and maintain strong relationships with indigenous students that provides a safe
environment for them to access the required supports to overcome barriers

- In depth knowledge of Australian Welding Standards AS1796, AS2214, AS1554 & AS1200
